Wills Reunion 2008

Wills Reunion 2008
We headed down to St. George, Utah for a much needed family reunion with all of David's brother's, sister's and parents. We had a great time hiking at Zion's, jet skiing at Sand Hallow Reservoir, golfing, shopping, eating and getting to know our extended family a little better. Thanks to all who made this get together possible and a huge thank you to Rick and Sharon for all you do for us!

My popcorn lovers!

As you can tell, the floor is clean, cause I had just put the popcorn down and then immediatly took the picture, but when they were done it looked like someone had thrown popcorn in every direction. I left the popcorn on the floor for a couple of hours and Eli managed to eat most of the big stuff. Some people have dogs to help clean up after their children.......I have my 1 year old!

We're everywhere!

We decided to head up to Rexburg, Idaho on short notice about 2 weeks ago. We ended up passing this sign and I got a kick out of it! Do we get a family discount?

4th of July

Mom and I sat in the backyard and watched
the kids enjoy sparklers!

Chandler and Sierra before David started
the spectacular show of fireworks!
Because we had lived in AZ for the past 2 years, we were not able to set off any fireworks, so David felt like catching up for the last few years and purchased a whole slew of them. They were all legal, but he bought enough to entertain us for over an hour! It was a pretty impressive show thanks to the help of our neightbor Archie! God Bless America :)

A most worthy 5 year old

Last night we decided to go to Denny's for dinner since Tuesday night is "kids eat free" night. We are all sitting around the table waiting for our food when Sierra asks, "Mom, can I get one of those cards so that I can go to the temple?". I was totally blown away by the topic, because neither David or I were talking about anything religious and I found that question to be so innocent and freakin' cute. I asked her "you mean a temple recommend?". She said "yes, do you have to wear a dress?". David's reply was, "Yes, a modest one!!!!". I then proceeded to tell her that when she was 12 years old she would need to meet with the bishop to get "a card/temple recommend" and then she could do baptisms for the dead. Her eyes lite up and she got very excited....then Chandler chimed in and said, "I get to go to the temple first!". Needless to say, I was tickled pink to know that my kids are anxious to do temple work, and have the desire to go to the temple!

Too Cool

So, Cameron decided to borrow this scooter from a co-worker on the eve of 4th of July, because he and his friends decided to ride down University Ave and wave/honk at all the people saving a spot for the parade. I guess he and his buddies all had little scooters and they ended up having a good time. Unfortunately, Cameron's scooter only maxed out at about 30 miles per hour. Lovin' the shades buddy!

Not hard to please

For us that have small kids, we must take advantage of the fact that it just doesn't take much to please our kids. We have this pool that has brought both our kids and the neighbor kids MUCH summer enjoyment! The kids are getting some healthy color and tiring themselves out, which is a bonus. I recently was looking at old photos with my Papa and we came upon a picture of his old home in Mesa. Geee did that take me back! We would go swimming almost everyday at Nana & Papa's pool. Good memories.

Baseball Season

Chandler decided to do machine-pitch baseball during the summer and he had a great time. He played 9 games and made some friends in the process. He played really well at 1st base and pitcher. Good job Chan!

Kids will be kids :)

'Tis the season for driving around the neighborhoods and finding lemonade stands with kids anxious to make a buck!
About 3 weeks ago, David and the kids decided to make a lemonade stand, so they bought scrap wood and paint and this is what the finished product was. I was pretty impressed and the kids love it. They ended up making about $8. I'm so proud of my little business gooroos!

Brett and Cameron were showing off there impressive muscels during Sierra's party, however Brett looks ready to enter the GAY Pride Parade with that necklace on! Love you guys.

Summertime!

When I think of summer I remember the trips to Southern California and heading to the beach when I was growing up. We would get a beach house and literally be on the beach for one solid week. I learned how to body surf and boogie board. Playing paddle ball and looking for sand crabs were serious business. And fish and chips while on vacation in Cali always seemed more delicious (Dana Point).
Anyway, memories are always remembered when listening to music you were listening too at the time. I grew up during the eighties with a dad who loved The Beach Boys, and back then the only way to travel with a big family was to drive, so music played a very entertaining part of our family road trips. So whenever I listen to them I think of the good old days of being a beach bum on the pacific coast.
While in California in April we were able to spend a day at the Oceanside beach and I LOVED IT! The beach is the easiest and cheapest way to entertain your kids for hours! And at the end of the day they are exhausted and conk out (moms favorite part of the day). I will not be getting to California this summer because we are building a house, however I hope to maybe continue the tradition of taking my kids to the beach most summers, whether it's in California or off the coast of Timbucktoo!
Well, I found this video and I apologize for it's poor quality, but hopefully you'll enjoy it anyway!
